Objective
To produce the first pilot study of a NICE model using DICE simulation
Model Type and Methods
The model is an Excel-based discretely integrated condition-event (DICE) simulation.
Model Description
This model is intended to replicate the model created for NICE Clinical Guideline 164, Familial breast cancer using the DICE methodology. It is based on the description of the model in Appendix N of the Addendum 164.1. It is provided as the basis for Pilot Study 1 of the IMPACT-HTA work package 2.The disease in this model example is represented by three states: Healthy, Breast cancer and Dead. Chemoprevention reduces the probability of breast cancer and affects the probability of suffering various adverse events.
